Ray was a high school basketball All-American at Perth Amboy High School in New Jersey. After high school he went on to play college ball. He played one year at BYU-Hawaii before going to UVSC for his sophomore season in 1989. Ray was a lightning-quick guard in his prime, and still sits atop the UVSC record book in the “steals” category. After leaving UVSC, Ray played for two years at the University of California Santa Barbara under legendary Coach Jerry Pimm. After college Ray played professionally in both Sweden and Brazil. He moved into coaching after his playing career beginning with Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara. He was the an Assistant Basketball Coach at UVSC. He has years of experience directing youth basketball camps and clinics. Coach Ray has an extraordinary gift for relating to kids and teaching them correct basketball fundamentals in a way that keep the kids excited and hungry for more.
Mary is from Provo, Utah. She attended Timpview High School from 1990-94. While at Timpview, she played 4 years of Varsity Basketball and Soccer. She was a 3 year All-Region athlete as well as an All-State athlete her senior year. She was named the Soccer Offensive MVP at Timpview and at UVSC. While at Timpview she received the Most Inspirational Player for her basketball team, and was awarded the Karl Thalman Best All-Around Athlete of the Year award. She went on to play college soccer at UVSC and BYU. After her playing career Mary returned to Timpview as an assistant Varsity basketball coach and the head Sophomore coach. She then served as the head Sophomore basketball coach at Lone Peak High School. In 2003 she founded the Wasatch Basketball Academy for girls and in 2005 over 200 girls participated in her program. Since then Mary's programs have provided the opportunity for over 500 girls to come and improve their games. She incorporates a positive attitude, hard work, commitment, a focus on the fundamentals, and having fun into her coaching style.
